| DriveShield® protects the hard drive of laptops and PCs. DriveShield is a software solution that allows a system to reset its original configuration with a simple reboot, no matter what changes users have made including erasing files, installing software and altering settings. DriveShield is designed to protect computers used by multiple users ( e.g in schools, libraries and businesses) from undesirable changes. | How DriveShield Works |
|
| During the installation process, the software creates a temporary storage area. The size of the temporary storage area is user definable. While the protection is "enabled", DriveShield software stores the temporary changes that are made to the system in that storage area. When a user modifies a document on the hard drive, these changes are written to the temporary area. From that point forward, if the user then tries to access that document, it is read from the temporary area, not the original protected location. This entire process is transparent to the end user, allowing them to work without knowing DriveShield is in action. Any modifications are discarded after a reboot, leaving all files in their original state. |
